Inter Milan defender Christian Chivu has been summoned before the Italian football federation's disciplinary commission for directing insulting gestures at AS Roma fans after last season's Italian Cup final.

According to a federation inquiry, Chivu violated "principles of decency and fairness" with his gestures after the game, which Inter won 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico as part of its unprecedented treble last season.

Also Tuesday, the Italian league banned Brescia's Alessandro Diamanti for three games for his reaction after picking up his second yellow card in a 1-0 loss to Lazio on Sunday.

Giuseppe Colucci of Cesena and Riccardo Montolivo of Fiorentina received one-game bans.
