MILAN --

Inter Milan and AC Milan described their first meeting about the future of the San Siro they share as ''very positive.''

Inter president Erick Thohir had a business lunch with AC Milan vice president Barbara Berlusconi on Thursday. A joint statement by the clubs said the meeting was spent ''mainly discussing the stadium and reiterating their desire to pursue their targets for development and growth.''

Both teams have made San Siro home since 1947. Previously it was the property of AC Milan.

The stadium was recently confirmed as the venue for the 2016 Champions League final, and there has been talk of renovation and adding a third tier on the east side.

There is also speculation that Inter wish to own the stadium outright.

Berlusconi adds ''other (meetings) will follow soon because I believe it is essential to have a constant exchange of ideas which will allow us to best manage the San Siro stadium.''
