Injury concerns mount for Inter

Inter Milan coach Rafael Benitez has plenty of injury concerns heading into Sunday's match at Cagliari.

But Inter captain Javier Zanetti is confident the team can return to winning ways in Sardinia, even in the absence of so many key players.

The Nerazzurri were held to a goalless draw by Juventus in the last round of games, having previously lost 1-0 at Roma.

"The important thing is that those players recover as soon as possible from their respective injuries," said Zanetti.

"It's useless to try to find the reasons behind the number of injuries we've had this season.

"We just have to concentrate on taking three points at Cagliari.

"I'm sure we can do well."

Inter have lost just once this season and are joint second with Napoli and AC Milan, two points behind leaders Lazio.

The Nerazzurri have the best defence in Serie A with just three goals conceded in six games but they will be put to the test by a Cagliari side that has yet to lose at the Stadio Sant'Elia this season.

A win for Inter on Sunday would be a big boost in confidence ahead of Wednesday's Champions League home encounter against Tottenham.

Unlike Inter, Cagliari will be at full strength this weekend.

Davide Astori and Alex Pinardi have recovered from their respective knocks and will start against Inter.

Cagliari coach Pier Paolo Bisoli has not presided over any home defeats, but his team has also won just once all season - a 5-1 triumph over Roma on September 11.
