Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is injured and will miss the upcoming European championship qualifiers against Turkey and Kazakhstan.
The German football association said Monday the 26-year-old Schweinsteiger will not be able to play in Friday's home match against Turkey in Berlin, and next week's game in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Schweinsteiger, who has played 83 matches for Germany, suffered a foot injury while playing for Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
Bayern Munich said in a statement it is unclear whether Schweinsteiger will have to miss more matches.
