EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (AP) Mexico international Andres Guardado of Dutch club PSV Eindhoven will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with an injured left ankle, which should keep him out of Mexico's match against the United States on Oct. 10 in Pasadena, California.

The club confirmed the diagnosis on Monday and estimated the time he will need to recover.

The match between Mexico and the United States will determine which team represents the CONCACAF region in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

The key midfielder injured his ankle in PSV Eindhoven's 2-1 victory over Manchester United last week in the Champions League.
