I'll only get better - Pienaar
New signing Pienaar was a surprise starter in Saturday's 1-1 Premier League draw at Newcastle, having only completed his move from Everton four days earlier. The South Africa midfielder, 28, was substituted six minutes from time after tiring towards the end of the game but he was pleased with his Spurs bow. Pienaar started on the left wing at St James' Park, with Gareth Bale dropping back to left-back. Bale was forced off after just 11 minutes with a back injury and is a doubt for Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Fulham. He may have been rested anyway but his failure to recover would almost certainly see Pienaar keep his place at Craven Cottage. Niko Kranjcar would be another option, although there are reports the out-of-favour Croatia star is being lined up by Werder Bremen. Pienaar told his club's official website, www.tottenhamhotspur.com: "It's always a real pleasure to make your debut. "I didn't expect it to happen so quickly and I'm now looking forward to playing more games. "It was my first training session on Friday. You have to get used to team-mates but we all want to play the same game, so it's quite easy. "It's an attacking team and with the players here, we're always going to score goals. "I hadn't played for two weeks, so I'm quite happy. I'll only get better."
