Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will sit out Wednesday's friendly against Germany.

Sweden coach Erik Hamren says the AC Milan striker needs to rest after receiving a couple of knocks in Sunday's derby win over Inter Milan.

Hamren told news agency TT on Monday it was just a matter of giving Ibrahimovic time to recuperate and that "if it were a competitive match on Wednesday, he would have played."

Ibrahimovic converted a first-half penalty to give Milan a 1-0 victory over his former club.
