Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will start for the first time at the European Championship.
Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk still kept striker Robin van Persie in the starting lineup alongside winger Arjen Robben, playmaker Wesley Sneijder and creative midfielder Rafael van der Vaart for a super offensive lineup. The Dutch need at least two goals against Portugal to qualify for the quarterfinals.
Defensive midfielder Mark van Bommel and central defender John Heitinga were left on the bench as Ron Vlaar got another call up.
Portugal left its starting lineup unchanged for the third straight game.
