Bulgaria great Hristo Stoitchkov has been appointed coach of CSKA Sofia.
The 47-year-old Stoitchkov, who led Bulgaria to the semifinals at the 1994 World Cup in the United States, led the team's first training session on Wednesday.
Stoitchkov, who won three league titles and four national cups as a CSKA player in the 1980s, replaced Milen Radukanov, who quit following a string of poor performances.
Stoitchkov switched to CSKA Sofia from Litex Lovech, whom he guided into fifth place in the championship after taking over in January 2012.
