Howard's former club are in pole position in the Premier League title race - and Everton have not won at Old Trafford since 1992. However, the Toffees are buoyant having gone seven unbeaten in the league, winning three out of their last four, while United have had a tough week. The Red Devils were beaten by City in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday before labouring to a 0-0 draw at Newcastle on Tuesday night. United have only dropped two points at home all season so Howard admits it will still be a huge ask to win at Old Trafford but the American keeper is confident they will be preparing for a stern test. "The way we're going, they won't take us lightly. It would be massive to go to Old Trafford and get a result because not many teams go there and do it," he told the Echo. "We know we've got our work cut out going there and doing it, but we've been in great form. "Although it'll be hard we'll give everything. They will take it to us but we feel good about ourselves." David Moyes has fostered a siege mentality at Everton, much like Sir Alex Ferguson when United are under pressure, and that has served the Toffees well in recent seasons. Moyes' men have had to recover from a woeful start to the season along with a series of injuries, and Howard feels that spirit remains as they chase a top-six finish. "There is that backs-against-the-wall chemistry again," he added. "We've got some of our best players out but it says a lot about the team and the manager and staff that we rally around each other. "We've gone on the training field with six first-team players but we enjoy the training and each other's company. "That shows in our performances and the results have come. It shows what the players feel about putting the shirt on."
