Scottish First Division outfit Falkirk are set to name Gary Holt as their new manager on Wednesday.
The club are set to hold a press conference at 11.30am when Steven Pressley's successor will be confirmed.
Holt's first match in charge will be Saturday's First Division home game against Cowdenbeath and the Bairns then take on Hibernian in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup the following weekend.
It will be a first managerial role for former Scotland midfielder Holt, who won 10 caps for his country between 2000 and 2004.
He first made his name in the SPL with Kilmarnock and won the Scottish Cup with them in 1997, ironically against Falkirk.
Holt then moved on to Norwich, Nottingham Forest and Wycombe before eventually returning to Carrow Road as assistant academy manager after a brief spell as player-coach at Colchester and a period with non-league Lowestoft Town.
Falkirk chairman Martin Ritchie drew up a five-man shortlist following Pressley's departure to Coventry last month and the club held interviews last week.
Ritchie said at the weekend: "We have interviewed a number of candidates and because of Easter commitments, the process can't be completed until this coming week. We are hopeful that a decision will be reached quickly and an announcement made before next Friday.
"I am very pleased that, from the interviews so far, we have identified three candidates who could do an excellent job for us. The board will meet following the final interview to consider the findings of the selection panel and, hopefully, decide on our new head coach."
