Holloway: Fans can help us

Manager Ian Holloway has called for the Crystal Palace fans to make the atmosphere at Selhurst Park so intimidating that referees will be reluctant to give decisions against them.

Palace are currently fifth in the Championship table and pushing for promotion to the Premier League.

And, having experienced hostility towards officials at other grounds this season, Holloway wants to harness every advantage to achieve success.

"I think it is vital that you make it a horrible place to come for any referee or opposition player," said Holloway. "It should be almost impossible to get a decision without you moaning like mad at the referee.

"We found that at Cardiff and at Huddersfield last week and we've got to make our place somewhere where it is impossible to give anything against us.

"The advantage that our fans have created this season has been a huge part in how well the lads have done and they can play a huge part between now and the end of the season."

Holloway took over as Palace boss in early November last year and they have won six of his 17 league games in charge.
