Holdsworth looking for balance

Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth insists his side will keep working hard to try and end a run of five consecutive league defeats.

The Shots were hammered 4-0 by Gillingham with goals from Charlie Allen, Danny Kedwell, Myles Weston and Chris Whelpdale leaving them languishing in the League Two drop zone.

"We came up against a very good side," Holdsworth said. "They're at the top of their confidence, you can see that, and we need to find that.

"There were signs for me that we haven't given in and that the players still believe in their ability. We asked them to play for pride and I was pleased with them second half but it was a job too far.

"You've got to do your jobs. And if you don't you will get punished against a good side. We've got to say we've lost three points and start looking for the next three.

"We're trying to find that right balance in defence. We've got to find a formula. These players are more or less the same players who went on a fantastic run last season. We've got to make sure we find a formula as quick as possible, and we'll work our socks off until we do get it right."
