Higuain targets long Real stay
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain admits he would love to finish
his playing career with the La Liga giants at the Bernabeu.
Higuain has been a big hit since joining the Spanish giants
from River Plate midway through the 2006/07 season, developing a
habit of scoring crucial goals and last season finishing at the
club's top scorer with 22 strikes in La Liga.
The 22-year-old Argentinian has continued that form this
campaign as well, and in his last nine league matches he has netted
10 goals, leaving him above the likes of team-mates Cristiano
Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Kaka and Raul in the scoring charts.
Looking to the future, Higuain hopes he will still be scoring
goals for Madrid at the end of his career as well, telling AS: "It
would be wonderful to finish my career here.
"Real Madrid and the city are my second home, it would be
fantastic. I would like that the Madrid fans remember me as a great
person, humble and hard working."
