Javier Hernandez has been selected in Mexico's squad for World Cup qualifiers against Guyana and El Salvador next month.

The Manchester United striker, known universally as ''Chicharito,'' was in the squad announced on Friday.

Manchester United and the Mexico federation announced earlier this week that Hernandez would not play at the London Olympics so he can rest for the Premier League season. He was set to be picked as one of Mexico's three players over the 23-year age limit.

Mexico plays Guyana on June 8 and El Salvador four days later. Its first game at the Olympics is on July 26 against South Korea.
