Redknapp revealed on Wednesday that he would reluctantly consider offers in January for the Russia striker, who has slipped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane. Pavlyuchenko provided the perfect response with a brilliant free-kick to secure the three points and send Spurs top of the group. "He's a fantastic striker of the ball," Redknapp told Channel Five. "He's got two great feet. Technically he's a top, top player - there was never any doubt about that. It was good to see him score." Redknapp fielded a host of fringe players in his starting line-up, and was more than content with the performance of his young side. "It was always going to be a tough night," he said. "They're a good side. They went to Barcelona and won [in 2009]. They're not a bad outfit. I think six or seven of them were in that team. "I thought it was a good performance. We had to hang on a little at the end but I was pleased with us." Redknapp will continue to give his youngsters a chance for the reverse fixture in Russia in two weeks' time to keep the regulars fresh for the Premier League. "We wanted to get the points and really I can look to send the kids over there to play," he added. "It's a horrendous journey before you play on the Sunday. It's not what you want. It will be a good experience for some of the young players to go and I can save the senior ones for the game on the Sunday."
