HANNOVER, Germany -- Michael Frontzeck is staying on as coach of Hannover, after guiding the Bundesliga club away from relegation over the last five matches of the season.
Hannover president Martin Kind says Frontzeck ''has done successful work and we want to continue the cooperation with him.'' Frontzeck signed a two-year contract.
He was signed for the last five matches of the season to replace Tayfun Korkut. Hannover went through a 16-match winless streak but won two and drew two under Frontzeck, and secured another season in the Bundesliga with a last-round 2-1 win over Freiburg, which was relegated.
