Hall: Shrimpers want me to go

Winger Ryan Hall insists he will not be going back to Southend despite failing to agree a loan switch with Blackpool.

The 24-year-old is training separately from his Shrimpers team-mates having failed to secure a move away from Roots Hall, coming after manager Paul Sturrock felt transfer speculation was affecting his mindset.

Hall has told the Echo: "I spoke to Ron (Martin, chairman) about the situation and he said too much had gone on for me to come back to Southend. He told me I had no future at the football club and I think, to be honest, the club want me to go because they need the money.

"Even now the chairman keeps mentioning Blackpool to me because they're willing to pay ?250,000, but I've told him I'm not going there because we can't agree personal terms. I never had the chance to come back to Southend after everything fell through and it certainly wasn't my decision that I didn't go back."

But Sturrock has since told the club's official website: "I only want committed football players at this football club. Ryan has made it very clear to me that he isn't committed so that is why I don't want him to be here.

"He's made it very clear that he wishes to leave so do I really want players around the place that will go through the motions counting down the days until they can move?"
