Gyan returns to international football
Striker Asamoah Gyan has made himself available for Ghana after a five-month break from international football following his African Cup disappointment.
Gyan, who recently agreed a permanent deal to stay at United Arab Emirates club Al Ain, sent a letter to the Ghana Football Association to confirm his return.
Gyan said in the letter he had an opportunity to ''reflect'' during his break and was now ''fully committed and focused'' on helping Ghana qualify for next year's African Cup in South Africa and the 2014 World Cup.
Gyan missed a penalty in Ghana's semifinal defeat to Zambia at the African Cup in February, the second time in successive major tournaments he's missed a crucial spot-kick following his error in the quarterfinal against Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup.
