French winger Leandre Griffit scored in the 47th minute as U.S. team the Columbus Crew held out Joe Public of Trinidad 3-0 in the CONCACAF Champions League on Tuesday.
After Griffit opened the scoring for the Crew, Jason Garey headed in an Emmanuel Ekpo pass in the 51st minute and Steven Lenhart sealed the win in the 79th.
Columbus has two wins from three matches at the halfway mark of
Group B play in the tournament that determines the club winner from
North and Central America and the Caribbean. Joe Public is yet to
win a match.
