The Football Association has charged Portsmouth manager Avram Grant
with improper conduct for confronting a referee at halftime of a
Premier League match.
Grant confronted Kevin Friend at Fratton Park on Tuesday
after the official did not award a penalty kick for what he
believed was a foul on Aruna Dindane by Sunderland's George
McCartney.
Grant was sent to the stands for the second half and Dindane
equalized in injury time to earn his side a 1-1 draw.
