Madrid -- Granada says forward Dani Benitez has tested positive for cocaine and it will soon rescind his contract.

A club spokesman told The Associated Press that Benitez tested positive for cocaine in an anti-doping control following a home game against Real Betis last month. He spoke under anonymity in line with club policy.

The spokesman said the player would be fired from both Granada, where he plays on loan, and his home club of Udinese in Italy, where he is under contract until 2015.
