Granada promoted to Spain's first division

Granada is back in Spain's first division for the first time in 35 years after beating fellow second-division Elche to earn promotion on Saturday.
Granada eliminated Elche from their playoff series on the away goals rule in a 1-1 draw.
Granada hasn't played in the topflight since the 1975-76 season.
It went ahead in the 28th minute through Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo's opener and held on after Jordi Xumetra equalized in the 82nd.

Wednesday's first leg in Granada ended 0-0.
Granada will be accompanied by Betis and Rayo Vallecano in La Liga next season.
In Spain's second division, the top two teams are automatically promoted while the third- through sixth-place teams play a two-round playoff to determine the third team to move up.
