American midfielder DaMarcus Beasley scored for Puebla in the first half, and U.S. forward Herculez Gomez had two goals in the second half to lead Santos Laguna to a 3-1 victory in the Mexican Clausura on Saturday night.

Beasley, a member of the past three U.S. World Cup teams, scored his second goal of the season in the 43rd minute, his fourth goal since joining Puebla last summer.

Gomez, a teammate of Beasley's on the American team at the 2010 World Cup, tied it in the 48th minute. Oribe Peralta put host Santos ahead in the 71st minute, and Gomez got the final goal in the 90th. Gomez has four league goals this year and five overall.
