West Ham co-owner David Gold has apologized for criticizing the acting chairman of Premier League rival Birmingham in a newspaper article.
Birmingham banned Gold from last week's match between the teams after he claimed Peter Pannu had denied Gold the chance to remain as chairman when he sold his stake in the club last year.
Gold apologized for ''the emotional language he used and any offense this might have caused Mr. Peter Pannu.''
Birmingham released a statement saying that the apology was ''a correct step forward with regards to mending relationships.''
