Paul McCone and Sean Evans were the heroes as the Southern Premier League outfit came through the first-round replay against Argyle, who are rock bottom of the Football League. Nathan Bennett's thumped header from 10 yards forced Pilgrims stopper Jake Cole into action inside the opening three minutes. Conor Hourihane blazed high and wide after good work from Argyle's Will Atkinson a minute later. The impressive Ryan Rowe nearly broke the deadlock from Evans' vicious low ball, but his sliding effort was pushed to safety by Cole midway through the first half. The non-league outfit's chances were boosted on 34 minutes when Paul Bignot was dismissed for kicking out at the Glassboys' Evans. And they made the man advantage count, centre-back McCone powerfully heading home Sean Gebbis' in-swinging corner from the left on 52 minutes. Carl Fletcher's side were holding on, Paul Lloyd's swerving cross striking Cole's crossbar, and the follow-up from Leon Broadhurst flicking the bar 10 minutes later. The giant-killing was complete on 73 minutes, ex-Man United trainee Evans slamming home the rebound after Cole pushed out Rowe's low effort. Ben Billingham's late drive almost added to Argyle's misery as the ecstatic hosts booked a home tie with League One Stevenage.
