Serie A strugglers Cesena have parted company with coach Marco Giampaolo after less than six months in charge.
The club announced the decision immediately after today's 2-0 defeat at Parma, a result that left Cesena rooted to the foot of the standings with just three points and no wins from their opening nine matches.
A statement on the Cesena website, www.cesenacalcio.it, read: "Cesena wish to state that Marco Giampaolo has been relieved of his duties as first-team coach. The name of his replacement will be revealed in the next few days.''
The 44-year-old Giampaolo took over at Cesena in June as the replacement for Massimo Ficcadenti.
