England midfielder Steven Gerrard will take a full part in training on Friday after an injury scare during Thursday's session.

Gerrard reportedly pulled-up sharply with a calf problem just 30 seconds into an 11-a-side practice match at the Three Lions' training camp in Austria.

The Liverpool captain received 20 minutes of treatment on the sidelines as the game progressed, and was only able to resume light jogging at the end of the training session.

The incident will have caused Fabio Capello some concern as Gerrard is an integral member of his first-choice starting XI.

However, the Football Association has moved to allay any fears over the all-action midfielder with confirmation he will train as normal on Friday.

It remains to be seen if the 29-year-old will be risked in Sunday's friendly against Japan in Graz.

The game will be Capello's last chance to assess his squad before naming his final 23-man party to travel to South Africa on Tuesday.
