Gera in line for Albion action

Gera, who underwent surgery on a foot problem after rejoining Albion from Fulham this summer, has been an unused substitute in their last two games. Manager Roy Hodgson gave his clearest indication yet the 32-year-old will complete his comeback at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday by withdrawing him from the squad for Tuesday night's reserve clash with Chelsea. Gera saw his first match action in five months a fortnight ago when he played 45 minutes of the reserves' 3-1 win over Arsenal and Hodgson believes he will now benefit more from training with the first team this week than another second-string outing. The same does not apply to Gabriel Tamas, who was set to make his return from injury in Tuesday night's match after suffering a thigh strain on international duty with Romania three weeks ago.
