Lille have confirmed coach Rudi Garcia is poised to leave the club to take charge of Roma.
Roma are searching for a new manager to replace interim coach Andrea Andreazzoli at the Stadio Olimpico.
A number of names have been linked with the manager's job, but it appears Garcia is set to take over at the Giallorossi.
Lille sporting director Frederic Paquet confirmed Garcia was in talks with Roma and that the club were prepared to let him move to Italy.
"We are aware Garcia is negotiating with another side," Paquet told Rmc Sport. "The coach informed us about the talks with this club and we want things will go positively for everyone.
"We are ready to let him go.
"Affair closed in next 48 hours ? I don't know. What is sure is that everyone wants it to go positively. Everything will be clearer when we will talk with Rudi."
