Los Angeles Galaxy defender Leonardo will miss the rest of the Major League Soccer season because of a pair of torn ligaments in his right knee.
The 23-year-old from Brazil injured his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament during Sunday's 2-1 win at Chicago.
Following an MRI Monday, the Galaxy said Leonardo is tentatively scheduled for surgery next week with club doctors from the Santa Monica Orthopaedic Group.
Leonardo is in his second season with the Galaxy and is among two players to play all 90 minutes in all seven of Los Angeles' games this season.
