Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer made a string of saves help Fulham hold Newcastle to a 0-0 draw Saturday in the Premier League.

Schwarzer's best stop came when he prevented Andy Carroll's 52nd-minute volley from flying into the bottom corner.

Fulham forward Clint Dempsey also kept Newcastle keeper Tim Krul busy, although it was the crossbar that kept out Moussa Dembele's 70th-minute volley.

Defender Brede Hangeland blocked Carroll's goalbound effort in the 85th, as the visitors survived a late onslaught.
