Fuchs: I asked to kiss Hazard's feet after goal clinched Leicester's EPL title

It should come as no surprise, but Leicester City players were quite thankful of Chelsea for helping the Foxes clinch their first Premier League title last May.

In a piece written for The Players' Tribune, Leicester left back Christian Fuchs says he asked to kiss Chelsea star midfielder Eden Hazard's feet after their season finale. It was Hazard who scored the goal against Tottenham that cemented Leicester's improbable title and sparked massive celebrations at Jamie Vardy's house, where Leicester's players had gathered to watch the all-important match.

And it was Fuchs who delivered the viral moment of the day, recording the Vardy Party at the instant it took off. Leicester closed the season against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a game that meant nothing to the title race, because of Hazard's heroics.

"I’ve been watching football since I was six years old," Fuchs writes. "I have never seen a more beautiful goal. When Hazard curled that ball into the top right corner, I couldn’t believe it. It was an impossible strike. It hit the back of the net and … woof. Everybody went crazy. People were jumping up and down, plates of food went flying, drinks were spilled. (Two weeks later, when we played Chelsea in the final match of the season, I walked up to Hazard after the final whistle and said, “May I kiss your feet, sir?” He laughed.)

"When it was really over, when the whistle blew and we were Premier League Champions … wow."

Leicester hasn't enjoyed quite as smooth as a ride in the Premier League this season, sitting in 12th place with a 3-4-2 record through nine games.

The club has had more success in its first foray into the Champions League, where it is one of three sides (joining Barcelona, Atletico Madrid) to maintain a perfect 3-0-0 record through three group matches.
