Friedel in silverware search
Brad Friedel says Tottenham Hotspur are setting their sights on silverware in 2013/14, and is not ruling out a title tilt.
Spurs came agonisingly close to securing a top-four finish last season, only to miss out on UEFA Champions League football on the final day of the campaign.
They are determined to put things right next term, with the north London outfit confident they have the quality within their ranks to compete alongside English football's elite.
Friedel admits a return to Europe's top table remains the top target at White Hart Lane heading forward, but the veteran goalkeeper is also hoping to get his hands on a major trophy.
He told Sky Sports News: "We're all looking very positively at this season ahead. We see no reason why we can't finish in the Champions League.
"But deep down we don't want to just stop at that, we want to win some silverware this season. If we can become title contenders, we will try our best at that as well."
Club captain Michael Dawson is another planning for a productive campaign, with the Spurs squad refreshed and raring to go.
He said: "After the disappointment we had last year, missing out on the Champions League, you go away and have your holiday, which you need after a long season, and you rest your body. It's rested and it's ready for, hopefully, another good, long season and we can be successful.
"We have got to earn the right as players, staff and as a football club to be in the top four, which is a big challenge but one we are certainly thriving on."
