PARIS (AP) France will play five friendly matches, including games against the United States and Italy, as part of its preparations for next year's World Cup.
France, the runner-up at last year's European Championship, will take on Colombia at the Stade de France on March 23, then travel to Russia to face the World Cup hosts four days later.
France will intensify its preparations in the weeks leading to the June 14-July 15 tournament with three more friendlies in two weeks. The French will be up against Italy on June 1 and will take on the United Sates on June 9 in Lyon.
Another game with an opponent still to be determined will take place on May 28.
