FOX Soccer announced the addition of Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl on Thursday as a weekly contributor to the network’s studio and news shows, including Goals On Sunday and FOX Soccer News. Wahl, with 16 years of experience covering the international game, is set to cover next week’s US Men’s National Team FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Guatemala on Oct. 16 in Kansas City.

Reporting from New York, Wahl’s analysis compliments commentary and discussions from studio host Rob Stone and analysts Warren Barton, Eric Wynalda and Brian McBride. His reports are also featured on the network’s nightly news and highlight show, FOX Soccer News.
After beginning his career as an intern with the Miami Herald, Wahl has spent the last 16 years with Sports Illustrated, becoming the outlet’s first full-time soccer writer in 2010. During his career, he reported on four FIFA Men’s World Cups, three FIFA Women’s World Cups and five Olympic Games. His book, The Beckham Experiment (Crown, 2009), which chronicled international soccer superstar David Beckham’s move to Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy, was the first soccer book to make the New York Times Best Seller List.
