Former Real Madrid and Chelsea midfielder Diarra set for Celtic talks
Former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Lassana Diarra has flown to Scotland for talks with Celtic over a possible free transfer move to Parkhead.
Goal revealed on Thursday that the Scottish Premiership side were lining up a move for the free agent.
And Diarra is now expected to hold talks with Celtic officials over the next 24 hours and is set to watch Saturday's home clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Celtic are set to offer Diarra a deal until the end of the season and, if talks go well, the 29-year-old former Real Madrid player could put pen to paper on a contract over the weekend.
Diarra has been without a club since leaving Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this year and had been linked with a return to England.
QPR went close to landing Diarra in the summer, only for the move to fall through at the eleventh hour, while Tottenham have also been linked with the France international in recent weeks.
Celtic are now leading the race to sign Diarra as Ronny Deila looks to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.
The centre of midfield has proved a problematic area for Deila so far this season, and the Celtic boss sees Diarra as someone who will strengthen their squad as they look to compete for honours on four fronts.
