Germany attacker Andre Schuerrle has been ruled out of the team's friendly with the Netherlands on Tuesday due to flu.

The German Football Federation said on its website the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder was returning to Leverkusen.

Borussia Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer was already ruled out of the game with a calf strain.

Germany's most notable absentee will be Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who broke his collarbone.
