Flu rules Schuerrle out for Germany against Dutch

BY foxsports • November 15, 2011

Germany attacker Andre Schuerrle has been ruled out of the team's friendly with the Netherlands on Tuesday due to flu.

The German Football Federation said on its website the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder was returning to Leverkusen.

Borussia Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer was already ruled out of the game with a calf strain.

Germany's most notable absentee will be Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who broke his collarbone.

Germany, which qualified for next year's European Championship with 10 wins from 10 games, is looking for its first win over the Netherlands since 1996.
