Swansea has completed the signing of Spanish central defender Jose Manuel Flores from Italian club Genoa for three years and 2 million pounds ($3.1 million).

The 25-year-old Flores revealed the desire to play under new coach Michael Laudrup was one of the main reasons he signed for the English Premier League club.

Flores played under Laudrup for Mallorca, where he was on a seasonlong loan deal from Genoa.

Flores said: ''He was one of the main reasons I signed. I believe the manager will be good for Swansea and they have done well to get him.''
