Fletch targets away improvement
Midfielder Darren Fletcher is confident away draws will soon start turning into wins for Manchester United.
Although the result enabled United to reclaim their place at the top of the Premier League and extend their unbeaten start to 18 matches, Ferguson was adamant it would have been more had referee Lee Mason not blundered when he allowed Lee Bowyer's controversial strike to stand a minute from time.
For all the rights and wrongs of that particular debate, in the final analysis, it will be one of those that got away, just like the games at Fulham and Everton earlier in the season when draws were snatched from the jaws of victory, as well as the home encounter with Saturday's opponents West Brom.
But Fletcher does not feel it is a fault which is impossible to rectify. Indeed, the Scotland skipper intends proving it at the Hawthorns.
"We are confident we will turn these performances into wins and go on a winning run, which we will need to if we are going to win the league," he said.
"We have played well at some hard places but have conceded late goals that have tainted good performances.
"It shows the concentration levels have to be there. There have been a lot of shock results in the Premier League, which proves you need to be fully switched on for 90 minutes."
