Fiorentina win third straight Europa match; Napoli lose perfect record

Fiorentina secured a third straight win in the Europa League but fellow Italian side Napoli's 100 percent record came to an end as Europe's second-tier club competition resumed with the third round of group games Thursday.

Juan Vargas' 38th-minute strike earned Fiorentina a 1-0 victory at PAOK Salonika and a five-point lead in Group K.

Napoli dropped their first points of the Europa League campaign as they went down 2-0 away to Swiss side Young Boys on Thursday night.

Goals from Guillaume Hoarau in the 52nd-minute and Leonardo Bertone in injury-time decided the contest and moved the hosts level top of Group I on goal difference.

Sparta Prague joined the pair on six points, but their 3-0 win at Slovan Bratislava was marred by crowd trouble which caused the game to be suspended for around 40 minutes.

Fighting between rivals fans called a temporary half to proceedings shortly before half-time.

When the match restarted, second-half goals from David Lafata, Tiemoko Konate and Ladislav Krejci earned the visitors victory.

Holders Sevilla had to settle for a goalless draw at Standard Liege, but still held on to top spot in Group G.

The visitors were indebted to a fine display from Kevin De Bruyne, who helped set up Ivica Olic for the opener and then scored twice himself either side of a superb strike from Luiz Gustavo.

The hosts' efforts came from Andreas Granqvist, whose penalty made it 2-1, and a late Wanderson effort.

With Lille drawing 0-0 at home to Everton in the other game in the pool, Everton lead it by a point from Wolfsburg, with only three points separating the English side from Krasnodar at the bottom.

Guingamp moved about the Greeks into second with a 0-0 draw away to Dinamo Minsk.

AaB defeated Dynamo Kiev 3-0 to leave three teams in six points in Group J.

Two goals from Nikolaj Thomsen following an opener from Thomas Enevoldsen ended Dynamo's perfect pool record.

Steaua Bucharest joined them on two wins, and topped the pool on goal difference, after a 2-1 win at home to pointless Rio Ave.

A first-half double from Raul Rusescu put the Romanians in control before Yonathan Del Valle pulled one back just after half-time.

In the only match in Group L Trabzonspor beat Lokeren 2-0, Mustapha Yatabare and Kevin Constant on target, to consolidate second place in the group.

Besiktas were impressive winners in the other game in the group as they won 4-0 away to Partizan Belgrade to go level with Spurs on five points at the top of Group C.

Veli Kavlak and Demba Ba scored in the first half for the Turks and Oguzhan Ozyakup and Gokhan Tore struck in quick succession after the break to seal a comprehensive win.

Borussia Monchengladbach also hit five as they crushed Apollon Limassol 5-0, scoring four times after the break.

Celtic and Salzburg are level on seven points at the top of Group D. Alan scored a hat-trick as Salzburg won 4-2 at home to Dinamo Zagreb, while the Scots beat Astra Giurgiu 2-1.

Torino top Group B after a 2-0 win at home to HJK Helsinki, with Club Brugge's 1-1 draw with FC Copenhagen leaving the Belgians second.
