Fiorentina playmaker Stevan Jovetic has had arthroscopic knee surgery and is expected to be out for six months.
The Tuscan club says Monday that the 20-year-old Jovetic underwent the operation in Germany, where he will remain for the next five weeks for rehab.
The Montenegro international was hurt in preseason training.
Fiorentina, which is also without forward Adrian Mutu until Oct. 28 due to a doping ban, has won only one if its opening six Serie A matches.

A year ago, Jovetic scored twice in a 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League.
