Fiorentina has announced it is negotiating with Barcelona to
acquire Brazilian forward Keirrison de Souza Carneiro.
In a note on its Web site Sunday, the Tuscan club said it has
nearly concluded a two-year loan deal for Keirrison - who has
played on loan with Benfica this season - pending medical tests
Monday.
The deal would eventually allow Fiorentina to acquire
Keirrison's full rights.
With Adrian Mutu facing a possible long-term doping ban,
Fiorentina had attempted to lure Antonio Cassano from Sampdoria but
that deal has apparently fallen apart.
