Fenerbahce's Belozoglu banned 2 games for slur
Fenerbahce midfielder Emre Belozoglu was banned for two games by the Turkish Football Federation on Thursday for making a racist slur against Trabzonspor player Didier Zokora during their match last weekend.
The federation decision came hours after Trabzonspor's lawyers submitted a formal complaint against Belozoglu to prosecutors.
Belozoglu initially said he did not remember if he uttered a racial insult during Fenerbahce's tense 2-0 win on Sunday, and later denied using any slur.
He claimed Zokora insulted him but that they apologized and made up minutes later.
Trabzonspor asked that Belozoglu be charged under the country's tough anti-hooliganism laws, which call for up to one year in prison for racial insults in sports, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.
