Favre content with point

Borussia Monchengladbach coach Lucien Favre was happy with the point his side took from local rivals Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Coming as it did only three days after beating Dynamo Kiev 2-1 in the Champions League, Favre admitted it was difficult to adjust to the league newcomers, who he would rather have faced later on in the season.

"It is not bad to get point here," he said. "The teams who were promoted have all picked up points this weekend with Furth winning in Mainz and Frankfurt beating Hoffenheim 4-0.

"It is never easy to play against newly-promoted sides at the start of the season."

Favre also saw plenty of room for improvement in his side after they dropped points for the first time this season.

"You need more acceleration in your game and we did not have that," he told Liga Total television.

"We did not control the ball well either. We needed too long to get it under control."

Gladbach have two weeks to work on that due to the break for international matches before they host Nurnberg on September 15.
