Sochaux and Senegal defender Jacques Faty has been fined ?1,000 and had his licence suspended for four months for speeding.

Local newspaper L'Est Republicain reported that United States player Charlie Davies was cleared of involvement in the incident. Davies was with his former teammate when they were arrested last October after being clocked at 201 kph (125 mph).

Both men acknowledged Faty was driving. When they were arrested, Davies was behind the wheel after they swapped places in the car because Faty thought his license was still suspended from a previous speeding violation.

Davies, who has joined D.C. United on loan in February, suffered life-threatening injuries in another car accident in which another passenger died in 2009.
