Monaco are closing on a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao which will not include any exit clauses.

The ambitious French outfit, who will return to Ligue 1 in 2013/14, have emerged as the front-runners in the race to secure the signature of one of world football's most sought-after talents.

With money no object, they are prepared to spend big in the pursuit of high-profile recruits.

Falcao is set to become the latest addition to their ranks and Monaco are convinced that he will buy into their long-term project.

It had been suggested that an agreement with the Colombia international would include an option for him to leave next summer if Real Madrid or Chelsea came calling.

Monaco sporting director Vadim Vasilyev has, however, rubbished such reports and is looking forward to getting the relevant paperwork pushed through.

He told L'Equipe: "A clause to join Real or Chelsea? No, there is no clause.

"Radamel has big faith in our project. It is almost done, there are just a few details left to sort out.

"The transfer fee? It is less than €60million (£51.3m)."
