Fernando Torres scored on his comeback as Liverpool booked their place in the FA Cup fourth round after a 2-0 win over Preston at Deepdale.

Reds captain Steven Gerrard was charged with assault and affray earlier this week but was composure personified at Deepdale, producing an inspired display which ended with him creating the injury-time clincher for substitute Torres.
