Ex-Chelsea boss Ancelotti sets sights on Premier League return

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed he wants to work in the Premier League again and plans to return to management in January.

The former Chelsea boss has been out of work since being sacked by Real Madrid in the summer and then undergoing a back operation.

He recently suggested that he would return next season after being linked with the Liverpool job before Jurgen Klopp was appointed.

But, speaking to Corriere dello Sport, he said he hopes to be back in January and would like to manage again in England, where he led Chelsea between 2009-2011, winning the Premier League and FA Cup.

"I would like to go back to the Premier League. It is the ideal environment not for football, but for the 'game' around football," he said.

"You can work there with the right amount of pressure and with the necessary detachment and calm. Before I retire, I'd like to have another experience in England."

He added: "The vacation continues at least until the end of the year, then I'll start again.

"Where will I go? Where they call me. I will talk, evaluate and then decide. Up until a few weeks ago I was scared someone would call, but now the return is getting closer.

"Unless something strange happens. I am ready to get back on the bike in January."

Asked who he thought would win the Premier League this season, he said: "Manchester City because they have the strongest team, they have exceptional quality."
