Everton says it has signed midfielder Darron Gibson from Manchester United.
The 24-year-old Ireland international, a product of United's youth system, is joining Everton on a 4 1/2-year deal. Financial details were not disclosed.
He is Everton's first permanent signing of the January transfer window, with the club 11th in the English Premier League.
Gibson scored 10 goals in 60 appearances for Premier League champion United.
